Itinerant Teacher for the Visually Impaired
Cumberland County Schools
Fayetteville, North Carolina
Description:
- Develop and implement IEP's for students ages 3-21 with visual impairment in the expanded core curriculum areas
- Conduct and interpret initial and on-going assessments (FVA, LMA, AT...)
- Develop and conduct in-service programs to educate parents and school staff of the impact a visual impairment has on learning and experiences
- Supervise VI program classified staff
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Qualifications:
- Possess or be eligible to hold a NC VI certification
- Proficient in literary and Nemeth braille codes
- Knowledgeable of a variety of assistive technology aids/equipment
- Hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to travel to multiple school sites daily
- Meet NCLB qualifications and be HQ
